Four years ago, life forced a pause.
My father passed away suddenly from a heart attack. No warning. No time to prepare. One moment he was here, the next he wasn’t. Just… gone. It shook the ground beneath us. Not only because we lost him — but because, in some quiet, irreversible way, we lost him long before. He had, quite simply, lost his love for life.
Not long after, my youngest sister experienced a breakdown following a traumatic event. And as a family, we were thrown into something we couldn’t have predicted, couldn’t outrun, and couldn’t fix with logic or organisation or care alone. It was a period that brought everything into sharper focus — what mattered, who mattered, and how fragile the scaffolding of our lives can really be.
It taught me something that has stayed with me since:
Now is now.
Not later. Not when it’s easier. Not when it’s perfect.
It’s something we all say, but rarely live by — until life demands that we do. For me, that shift didn’t come in a dramatic change of career or a sudden reinvention. It came in the quiet decision to prioritise what felt real. To create space — both in my life and in the lives of others — for the things that matter: conversation, connection, momentum, and possibility.
That was the seed for BTS Club.
Not just another event series. Not a room full of business cards. But a place where people come as they are — with stories behind their eyes and chapters still unfolding — and find each other, in ways that are sometimes small and sometimes life-shifting.
We’ve now hosted dozens of evenings where people meet not just professionally, but meaningfully. Where you might hear something that nudges a new idea into motion, or feel something you didn’t know you were missing. Where the atmosphere holds both ease and energy. The kind of room where you look around and think, “I’m glad I came.”
One of those moments happened earlier this year, when we hosted an evening with polar explorer Ben Saunders. The talk was remarkable — but more than that, it was deeply human. Ben reminded us that “most people live their entire lives without ever scratching the surface of what they’re truly capable of.” He didn’t speak from a pedestal, but from experience — of perseverance, failure, grit, and grace. The words landed not just in our minds, but in our hearts.
That night, as with many of our events, wasn’t about performance or polish. It was about honesty. About showing up. About remembering what happens when people gather with intention.
And it left me thinking again about the importance of this kind of space — not just for business, but for resilience, for renewal, for whatever version of “next” you’re trying to figure out.
Because often, the most powerful moments are not the loud ones. They’re the ones when we stop, listen, and say yes to being present.
If you feel like something in your life is shifting — or needs to — we’d love for you to join us.
Come as you are.
Be open to what might happen.
Let the next moment find you.
